Lindbergh Marching Band Will Play In 2011 Tournament Of Roses Parade

Surprise announcement made at football game

10/09/2009 - Lindbergh High School's Spirit of St. Louis Marching Band has been selected to play in the 2011 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, Calif., which takes place on New Year's Day 2011. This will be the band's second trip to the parade (they first received the honor in 2005).

Marching Band Director Bob Spiegelman made the surprise announcement Sept. 25 to his band and a packed stadium of students, families and alumni, during the Lindbergh High School homecoming football game. He broadcast a phone call from the Tournament of Roses Parade president during the halftime show, announcing the band's selection.

The 122nd Rose Parade will feature spirited marching bands from throughout the nation, majestic floral floats and high-stepping equestrian units. The entire parade will be broadcast on ABC, NBC, HGTV and the Travel Channel.
